Registration for courses in the academic year 2026-2027

Registration for the courses opened on June 11 at 12:00. Registration is primarily done online. Registrations are also accepted by phone (tel. 040 330 4657) and at the community college office. The office is open Monday through Thursday from 12:00 to 16:00.

You can register for courses throughout the academic year and the course online store is open 24/7. Register for courses in the online store: uusi.opistopalvelut.fi/riihimaki In the online store you will also see up-to-date information about courses and any changes made to them.

 

Payment policy

Courses cannot be paid for when registering or before the course starts. When the course starts, we will send you a payment link by email, which allows you to pay online, via Epass, Smartum or Edenred mobile payment. You have 7 days to pay with these payment methods. If you have received a paper invoice at home, you can no longer use Smartum.

Riihimäki Community College 100 years (1926-2026)

In 2026, Riihimäki Community College celebrated its 100th anniversary!

The 100 Years photo exhibition is on display in the Civic College lobby on the 1st and 2nd floors.

During the anniversary year, we will publish weekly history-related stories on the college's social media (Facebook: riihimaenkansalaisopisto, Instagram: @riihimaen_kansalaisopisto). We will also share history news on peda.net.

The 100th anniversary celebration was held on Sunday, April 26, 2026. The program included speeches, musical performances, a fashion show, and the community college's spring exhibition.

 

Riihimäki Community College 100 years – sculpture group park exhibition
19.05.2026 – 30.09.2026 at the Finnish Wildlife and Hunting Museum

The long-standing collaboration between the Finnish Hunting Museum and the sculpture group of Riihimäki Community College will continue in the summer of 2026, when the Riihimäki Community College 100 Years sculpture exhibition opens in the museum park. The summer exhibitions of the community college's sculpture group have delighted visitors in the Hunting Museum park since the beginning of the 2000s. The exhibition is open to the public from 19 May to 30 September 2026.

This year's exhibition celebrates the centenary of Riihimäki Community College with a diverse collection of sculptures that reflect the artists' own interests, material experiments and personal themes. In the park, you can encounter both familiar domestic animals and more exotic characters.

The works in the exhibition include Helena Saarinen's lynx in a pleasurable position, licking its paw. Irja Latvala's badger's coloring echoes the animal's characteristic black-and-white contrast, and Harri Simpanen's works feature the exhibition's most exotic characters, an octopus and a lion dog.

Päivi Pelkonen's work was inspired by the song "A sparrow built a nest high in a birch branch..." and the tall birches in the Hunting Museum park. Marja Antola's light butterfly sculptures are made as textile works treated with Powertex hardener, and Taina Kemppi's concrete Diana sculpture is based on ancient mythology. In Roman mythology, Diana is, among other things, the goddess of hunting, wild animals and forests.

The works were created by the sculpture group of Riihimäki Community College under the guidance of teacher Arja Vilpo. The community atmosphere and long-term work of the community college's sculpture group are visible in the diverse works in the exhibition.

The park exhibition of Veiketi's sculptures is open to the public around the clock.
