At its meeting on Monday, September 25, the Riihimäki city council discussed, among other things, the new employment area's responsibility council agreement and the preliminary project plan of the maauimala.

The responsibility agreement is related to the establishment of an employment area that is being prepared for the Riihimäki, Janakkala, Hausjärvi and Lope area. Employment and economic services will be transferred from the state to municipalities or employment areas formed by municipalities on January 1.1.2025, XNUMX.

The Riihimäki city government proposes to the council the approval of the responsible municipality agreement and the organization plan, and takes into account the transfer of the current TE office's lease to the employment area. The final decision is made by the council of each municipality.

The municipalities will notify the Ministry of Labor and the Economy of their employment areas by the end of October 2023. The State Council will make a decision on the employment areas to be accepted in the first phase on 27.11.2023 November 2024. By the end of February XNUMX, the Government will publish information on all employment areas.

The government did not take a position on the implementation method of the renovation

The city council marked the status of the preliminary project plan for the maauimala for information and is preparing to propose to the city council that the costs of the basic repairs of the maauimala be taken into account as part of the financial plan for the years 2024–2026.

City manager Jouni Eho proposed to the board that the ground repair of the swimming pool would be carried out according to the plan costing 8,64 million euros. In its decision, the city government did not take a position on the implementation options for the renovation.

In the city's investment program, 3,2 million euros have been reserved for the renovation of the beach for the years 2023–2025. When making the project plan, it has become apparent that the sum in question is only sufficient for some of the changes required by the city government during the needs assessment phase. In order for the repair and improvement needs identified in the needs assessment phase to be implemented, the basic improvement of the beach would cost 5,54–8,64 million euros, depending on the implementation method.
