Riihimäki became known after the completion of the Riihimäki-St. Petersburg railway in 1870. A hundred years later, there was a celebration and steam locomotive 554 was placed near the station at the Saranpää traffic distributor on September 6, 1970. The locomotive is a Hv1 series medium-heavy passenger locomotive from 1915 equipped with a coal chimney.
Steam locomotive Heikki has been restored and has a storage compartment in the old locomotive shed. Its final location has not yet been decided.

Jyrki Sailo's bronze statue of the Fish Boy on Kalapojankuja was completed in 1955. The Fish Boy is a small 6–7-year-old child standing on a stone by the shore with fish in his hands that spray water. The statue is a fountain that is stored indoors for the winter.

The Meeting Column is a column erected in the Library Park on Riihimäki Day, 11 September 1998. The direction signs indicate distances to twinned municipalities and elsewhere in the world. The column was implemented at the initiative of Jouni Rasimus and was designed by architect Raija Niemi.

In Pääskypuisto, which was donated to the city by Helsingin Työväen Säästöpankki, the city erected the Lapsenlikka statue sculpted by Jyrki Sailo in 1964. The girl's model was Mrs. Miettinen. The engineering students of the Riihimäki Technical Institute have sometimes dressed up this 'Riihimäki's most beautiful woman' on May Day.

The Lasinpuhaltaja statue carved by sculptor Kalervo Kallio has become Riihimäki's symbol and a place of celebration (Kalevankatu 1). The model of the statue is standing glassblower Valto Terhomaa. The statue is from 1960, when Riihimäki became a city. The statue was donated to the city by Lasi and its employees.
The miniature model of the statue has been in front of the headquarters of Riihimäki Glass since 1963, when MA Kolehmainen was born 100 years ago. Today, the miniature model can be seen next to the main entrance of the Finnish Glass Museum.

The portrait relief of HG Paloheimo, the founder of the Paloheimo company, was unveiled on September 11, 1961, at the station square, the site where the company's first factory, a sawmill, was established in 1904. In addition to the portrait, Wäinö Aaltonen's artwork contains symbolism from the company's industries of wood, brick, and electrical industries, as well as agriculture.

Riihikivi is located in Luokkipuisto. The Ice Age polished stone is from a gravel pit in Hiivola and its plaque reads 'The city got its name from the rihi located on this hill, the memorial stone was erected on Riihimäki day AD MCMLXIII Riihimäki city, Riihimäki-Seura, Riihimäki Club 52'.
A monument to Riihimäki's field artillery traditions 1914-1959
The General Staff donated a cannon to the city of Riihimäki, and Kalevi Väyrynen designed a stand for it in the current library park. -
The plaque designed by Kari Juva was attached to the wall of the railway station on September 11.9.1970, XNUMX. The plaque has text in Finnish and Russian:

In 1948, the Sankaripatsas statue sculpted by Kalervo Kallio was erected in memory of the fallen heroes, at Puistikko 6. The young man in the statue leans on an angel and looks up into the heights. The statue is red granite. The heroes' cemetery in front of the statue was designed by Viljo Rewell.

The Topparoikka statue, a monument to the railway builders sculpted by Kari Juva, was unveiled in Keskuspuisto on Riihimäki Day 1970 in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Riihimäki-Pietari railway.
The artist says about the monument:
"The topparoikka idea started when I looked at pictures of a straight-backed topparoikka in the Railway Museum."
The statue depicts the moment when the track was finished and the builders could straighten their backs proudly after having done a great job. The rough way of making the statue depicts the misery that the track builders experienced in their time.
