The city government takes care of the management and development of the city in accordance with the goals, plans and decisions approved by the city council. The City Council's powers and general duties are regulated in the Municipal Act. The other duties of the City Council are defined in the administrative regulations.
The term of office of the City Council is 16.8.2021 August 31.5.2025–XNUMX May XNUMX.
The city council has eleven members elected by the council for their term of office and the same number of personal alternate members. The council appoints a chairman and vice-chairman from among the elected members. The members of the city council are authorized.
The city council meets as a rule every other weekday Monday. City Council meeting minutes are available on the city's website from the second business day of the week following the meeting.
Those entitled to attend: council chairman, 1st vice-chairman of the council, 2nd vice-chairman of the council and 3rd vice-chairman of the council
Niina Hiltunen, head of decision-making support, is the minutes-keeper of the City Council.
