Parking control

The city's parking control is responsible for the municipal parking control of the city of Riihimäki. The parking control supervises compliance with the prohibitions and restrictions on stopping and parking vehicles, as well as the rules and regulations on the use of parking discs. In addition, the unnecessary idling of the motor vehicle is monitored.

    The driver of the vehicle must be given a written decision about the mistake made and payment instructions on how to pay the parking mistake fee within thirty (30) days from the day of giving the warning.     The parking violation fee must be paid within thirty (30) days from the date of its determination. If the parking violation fee is not paid, the parking violation fee will be increased by fourteen euros (€14). The parking supervisor must give the owner or holder of the vehicle a written payment demand to pay the increased parking violation fee within 30 days of being informed of it, under the threat that the fee will otherwise be collected by enforcement.

    The law on the parking violation fee states that a violation of the prohibitions and restrictions on stopping and parking the vehicle, as well as the rules and regulations regarding the use of the parking disc, is subject to a parking violation fee.

    A parking violation fee is also imposed for violating the prohibitions and restrictions on unnecessary idling of a motor vehicle issued under the Environmental Protection Act (527/2014) or the Road Traffic Act (267/1981) and under section 1710 subsection 1995 of the Off-Road Traffic Act (4/1).

You must submit a rectification request within 30 days from the date of the error. If you submit a rectification claim after the deadline, it may not be examined.     The rectification request must include the author's name, address, bank account number, parking violation fee case number, vehicle registration number and justification for the rectification request. You can find the case number in the upper right corner of the payment request.

  • A home care parking permit can be issued for the following tasks performed at the customer's home:

    • home service, home care and housing service
    • home nursing care
    • services and support measures organized on the basis of disability
    • special care for people with intellectual disabilities.

    You can park with a home care parking ID in an area where parking is prohibited by a traffic sign. With the ID, it is possible to park for a longer period in an area where parking time is limited. In addition, it enables parking on the yard street and in the area of ​​the service driving allowed additional plate on the street network. Parking must not cause significant harm to other traffic or the use of the courtyard street.

    The parking ID is issued for a limited time.

    Conditions of granting

    A parking ID is issued to an employee, company, association or public entity providing the service.

    In the application, the applicant must indicate a maximum of three vehicles in which the home care parking number is used for parking. The company, association and public entity must also indicate the holder of the badge, who must be a natural person employed by the applicant.

    The employee or the badge holder must immediately notify the municipality of any changes in the conditions for issuing the badge.
