City organization

The city's management is based on the city strategy, financial plan, budget and other decisions of the council. The city has four departments: administration and corporate affairs, vitality, technical services and education and welfare. The city also has a water supply company.

City management team

The management team, consisting of the city's senior management and a staff representative, meets on Tuesdays. The management team discusses, among other things, strategic issues and issues related to the city's operations and services. These include, among other things, the implementation of the strategy, advocacy, and the key policies and development of operational activities.

The city's management team includes Mayor Jouni Eho, Director of Administration Petri Hirvonen, Director of Education Jari Lausvaara, Director of Vitality Anna-Riitta Kujala, Technical Director Maria Vasko, Director of Finance Pekka Karvonen, Human Resources Manager Taina Köninki, Communications and Marketing Manager Mia Miettinen, and Chief Shop Steward Maarit Lindholm-Teräväinen.
