The ban on the use of the Veturi Office (KOY Riihimäen Yritystalo) continues until further notice. Therefore, the city will mainly serve its residents electronically and by telephone until autumn 2026 for services located in Veturi. The documents that are on display are now on display on the noticeboard of the customer service point Tietotuva.

The remote service applies to the following city services:

Planning, land use, environmental protection, building control and employment services.
Business services of South Häme Employment Services.

If necessary, the service is available by separate arrangement at the Travel Centre (Eteläinen Asemakatu 2, first floor). You can ask for help from the city centre or Tietotuva.

International House Riihimäki, or Kotola, clients are currently served at the South Häme employment area office (Temppelikatu 2). The office is open weekdays from 9 am to 15 pm. Employment services are available at the Business Park (Kaartokatu 2) by separate arrangement.

Work on the Veturi Agency Headquarters is not permitted until the actual condition of the soil and foundations has been determined. An assessment of the future of the building and possible repair needs is underway. The assessments are expected to be completed in the fall of 2026.

The ban on use is due to subsidence of the ground next to the Veturi building and movements of the foundation piles. The city and the property owner, KOY Riihimäen Yritystalo, are monitoring and assessing the stability of the building on a daily basis.

The Agency Centre was closed for use on Friday, May 8, 2026, starting at 4 p.m. The Agency Centre Veturi is located at Eteläinen Asemakatu 16.
