The city of Riihimäki has printed dog poop garbage stickers for the citizens. A sticker glued to the waste container of a detached house is a sign to the dog walker that dog waste can be dropped into the garbage in a neatly closed bag. Gluing a sticker on the housing association's garbage requires permission from the housing association's board.

According to the Order Act, the dog walker must ensure that the dog's excrement does not remain in the environment in treated areas. Such areas include roads, streets and light traffic routes, the managed peripheral areas of the aforementioned and also managed park areas.

By printing stickers, the city wants to support a good idea that can improve the comfort of the environment. Dog waste bags can also be placed in every street and park trash can in the city.
