The kindergarten and school network in the city of Riihimäki will be reviewed during the spring. The aim of the work is to find the best possible network of kindergarten and school facilities in a situation where the number of children is decreasing significantly.
City residents are now being asked for feedback and views to support the service network.
Go to the zef.fi platform to answer the survey.
Responses are anonymous. Please respond to the survey by April 19, 2026.
The service network survey has been sent separately to guardians through the student administration system Wilma and the early childhood education digital service system Daisy. In addition, all city residents are invited to respond to the survey, regardless of whether the family has children of kindergarten or school age.
A service networking event will also be organized for city residents on Wednesday, April 15, 2026. The location and time will be announced closer to the date.
The views of children and young people are also sought to support the service network. Pupils from the city's comprehensive schools will have the opportunity to share what they consider important at school as part of their lessons. Children in early childhood education will also be able to participate.
The project group for the update of the daycare and school network is the Education and Welfare Board. The City Council decided to start the update work in December 2025.
The target schedule for completion of the work is May 2026.
