This year, the Older Adults' Week will be celebrated from 6 to 12 October 2025 with the theme Happiness grows in community. Unlike previous years, the week will not feature a Senior Fair in Riihimäki.

"With the cancellation of the Riihimäki Senior Fair, the program has more diverse events and opportunities than before, which are definitely worth checking out," encourages Alma Ylätalo, operations manager of open well-being services.

In Riihimäki, the program includes, among other things, an Age-Friendly Home lecture, which provides information on anticipating living, such as how to improve the safety of your own home or where to get repair advice if necessary. After the lecture, you can stay at Antonin talo (Anton's house) for the Seniors' Day Senior Afternoon, where local senior associations and other actors present their activities.

Throughout the week, you can learn about different forms of exercise at guided exercise classes. On Friday, a senior police officer and a doctor will talk about driving health in the elderly, assessments of driving ability, and illnesses that affect driving ability.

The city of Riihimäki is responsible for the week's program, Kotokartanosäätiö, Riihimäki parish, Oma Häme wellness area ja Hyria.

In addition to the Older Adults' Week program, there are other events in the city that you can check out. In the Riihimäki event calendar.
