There will be temporary changes to traffic in Hämeenaukio on Wednesday, August 28, 2024. The changes are due to the fact that the stone sculpture made by sculptor Aaron Heino will be brought and installed in the square on Wednesday. The sculpture, which will become a landmark in the square, is huge: the three-meter sculpture weighs almost seven tons.

The installation will cause changes to the flow of traffic on Hämeenakuio on the Hämeenkatu side from around 10.30:XNUMX a.m. One of the lanes going from Hämeenkatu in the direction of Lopentie will probably have to be closed.

The installation work is estimated to be completed by Wednesday evening.

The sculpture will be unveiled on Riihimäki Day, September 11 at 17 p.m., when the artist will talk about his work.

The city commissions 1–3 public works of art each year.
