The sports hall's gyms will return to use on September 15th – the sports hall will remain closed until late spring 2026

The renovation of the roof structures of the sports hall of the Sports Center has received a building permit. The renovation work will begin soon.

The Building Control Authority has given permission to use the Sports Hall's other facilities, except for the sports hall itself, from September 15, 2025. The sports hall itself, the hall's grandstand and the storage facilities below the grandstand are still not in use.

The facilities to be put into use on the 1st floor are:

• main lobby (including office and toilet facilities)
• sports bar-cafe (entrepreneur decides to open a cafe)

The facilities to be used in the basement are:

• bowling alley (entrepreneur decides to open a bowling alley)
• gyms
• changing rooms
• laundry, sauna, storage and maintenance facilities.

The actual renovation area has been cordoned off and there is no access. The completion of the renovation of the sports hall is currently estimated to be late spring 2026.

During the renovation work, there will be days when outsiders are not allowed to move around the area that is now being used, or a certain part of it. These situations will be announced on the premises well in advance.

A serious structural defect was discovered in the load-bearing structures of the roof of the Sports Hall's gym in June 2025. The entire Sports Hall has been closed for use since then.

The sports hall is located in Riihimäki at Pohjolankatu 6.
