The Sports Hall will remain closed until the end of 2025

The Riihimäki City Facilities Center announces that, according to the current assessment, the usage ban on the entire Sports Hall building will continue until December 31, 2025. Due to the ban, weightlifting and fitness gyms, café and bowling alley will remain closed.

Structural investigations continue

A serious structural defect was discovered in the load-bearing structures of the roof of the sports hall in June 2025. A beam located in the gymnasium is at risk of collapse.

An external consultant has examined the condition of the roof structures of the Sports Hall. Investigations of the load-bearing structures are still ongoing.

Facilities Services will provide further information as soon as the schedule is confirmed or if there are any other essential updates to share.
