Come and be inspired by beauty, jewelry and makeup art! Riemu Museums will celebrate Beauty Day on Saturday, August 29, 2026, starting at 13 p.m. The afternoon program will feature two interesting expert lectures.

13 p.m. Finnish jewelry industry developer and expert Johanna Lundán: Discover the lasting beauty of domestic jewelry

Jewelry is much more than just accessories: it is part of personality, dressing and life's most important memories. The lecture will give you practical tips for your own jewelry choices as well as advice on how to use, style and care for your jewelry. At the same time, we will debunk common myths about precious metal jewelry and introduce you to the Finnish goldsmithing industry.

Lecturer Johanna Lundán is a developer and expert in the Finnish jewellery industry and the producer of the Jewellery of the Year competition and the Jewellery Finland Gala, among others. The Finnish Goldsmiths' Association awarded her the Jeweller of the Year award in 2021 in recognition of her work for the jewellery industry and jewellery culture.

14 p.m. Makeup artist Raili Hulkkonen: Ideas and inspiration for beauty care
Raili Hulkkonen talks about beauty care, natural beauty, glowing skin, and individual makeup that suits everyone, and shares practical makeup tips.

Makeup artist, cosmetologist and entrepreneur Raili Hulkkonen is one of Finland's most well-known and respected beauty professionals and a pioneer of Finnish professional makeup. She has had a long and respected career working with celebrities, television programs and various events. She is particularly remembered for her work as a makeup artist for the Castle celebrations and the television programs Dancing with the Stars and Vain elämää.

Beauty Day is part of the accompanying program of the Riihimäki City Museum's Beauty – Some Women Don't Know This exhibition. You can participate in the Beauty Day program with the museum admission fee (14/6 €). A Museum Card is also valid. Children under 18 years of age can enter the museum free of charge.
