The technical committee decided to sell two residential units

The City of Riihimäki is selling the Kivimiehenkatu housing units Kivari Lyhty and Kivari Soihtu. The Kivaris are 24-hour service housing units for people with intellectual disabilities. The Technical Committee decided to sell the housing units at its meeting on 25 November 2025.

The selling price is 131,000 euros. The residential units are located at Kivimiehenkatu 19 and 21.

In addition to the housing units, the board made decisions on six other properties.

Haapahuhta School is not for sale

The board unanimously decided not to sell Haapahuhta School and Öllerinkoti at the prices offered. A bid of 62,000 euros had been made at auction for the school, the residential building in its immediate vicinity and the 1,6-hectare yard. A bid of 23,000 euros had been made for the building called Öllerinkoti and its yard.

Currently, the former Haapahuhta school building is rented by the Kanta-Häme welfare area Oma Häme, which provides disability services work and day activities in the premises. The technical committee also rejected the previous offer for the school in spring 2024. At that time, the offer was slightly less than 10,000 euros.

The Öllerinkodi property is located in the Peltokylä district at Öllerinkatu 5.

In addition, the board authorized the construction manager to conduct sales negotiations for the Mäkikuja Family Center property. Negotiations will be held with Oma Häme and the highest bidder at the auction. The property includes the main building and yard areas. The site is located at Mäkikuja 25. A decision on the sale of the property will be made after negotiations.

Several properties for resale

The board decided to put the following properties up for sale again:

• A complex of premises located in the basement of Hämeentorn. The site is located at Koivistonkatu 2.
• Asunto Oy Kalevankoti premises. The shares entitle you to management of the premises on the 1st floor. The property is located at Uramontie 12.
• The premises of the Asunto Oy Junailijankatu social centre. The shares entitle you to management of the premises on the 1st floor. The property is located at Jarrumiehenkatu 9–13.

According to the board's decision, the sale of the properties in Hämeentorn, Kalevankodi and Junailijankatu will be handled by a real estate agent.
