Teemu Seppälä is Riihimäki's new director of technology and innovation
Master of Political Science Teemu Seppälä has been elected as the new technology and innovation director of the city of Riihimäki. He will start his position on April 2, 2024.
"With robotics training, Riihimäki has achieved a unique position even on a global scale. The development of dual-use technologies excellently strengthens the growth opportunities of Riihimäki, Häme and the whole of Finland. At the same time, Riihimäki's urban structure is developing thanks to, for example, Voimala, Jokikylä and the housing fair. At the same time, these are things that make Riihimäki an internationally interesting investment destination for companies and experts. I'm really happy to be able to develop a city close to nature and in an excellent location," says Seppälä.
Seppälä has 25 years of experience in developing technology and innovation environments in Finland and abroad. In his work, he has been responsible for the implementation of extensive national and regional innovation projects. Seppälä is currently working at the city of Helsinki's business department, his area of responsibility is international growth companies.
26 people applied for the position of Technology and Innovation Director by the deadline, of which 25 met the eligibility criteria set for the position. One applicant withdrew his application after the end of the application period.
The application period for the director of technology and innovation was 19.12.2023 December 8.1.2024–XNUMX January XNUMX. The position is new and is located in the technology and innovations responsibility area of the administration and group division.
