There is plenty to do in Riihimäki during the school winter holiday week from 16 to 22 February 2026. Youth and sports services, the library and museums offer a variety of activities for those spending their winter holidays.

At the beginning of the winter holidays, Youth Services will organize a Valentine's Day disco at the Monari Youth Center on Friday, February 13, 2026, separately for lower and upper grade students. During the winter holiday week, Youth Services will also organize, among other things, a craft and handicraft workshop for the whole family, a trip to Lempäälä shopping center Ideapark, and a skiing trip to Messilä.

Public skating hours have been added to the Sports Services ice rink during the winter holiday week. The Wibit floating obstacle course will be in the swimming pool during the winter holiday week for the enjoyment of children and young people.

The library will celebrate Fairy Tale Day at the beginning of the winter break on Saturday, February 14. During the winter break week, you can independently search for a lost penguin in the children's section and win a small prize.
