Domestic water must still be boiled in Ryttylä – map of boil-in area added

The precautionary advice to boil household water continues in Ryttylä and the area of ​​Ryttylä water cooperatives. Drinking water may contain disease-causing microbes, as intestinal enterococcal bacteria have still been detected in a repeat sample taken from the water tower on Friday, September 12, 2025. The presence of the bacteria in the water is a sign of fecal contamination. No bacteria indicating contamination were detected in the sample taken from the network. The Ryttylä water tower and network are being flushed and the South Häme Environmental Health Department is collecting more samples today, Monday, September 15.

All drinking water and water used for cooking must be boiled for at least five (5) minutes in the Ryttylä urban area, the Lavinno and Turkhauda villages, the Apilisto water supply company area, and the Rauhanmaa, Riinanpolku and Suosillantie water cooperatives areas.

Water is drinkable after it has cooled after boiling. Unboiled water can be used for washing. Dishes can be washed with unboiled water, but they must be dried carefully after washing. The boil water recommendation is in effect until further notice.

Riihimäen Vesi is responsible for operating the water supply in the Hausjärvi municipality. Riihimäen Vesi informs customers via text messages and up-to-date information can be found on the Hausjärvi municipality website.
