As a precautionary measure, household water must be boiled in the Ryttylä settlement of Hausjärvi and in the area of ​​Ryttylä water cooperatives. Drinking water may contain disease-causing microbes, as intestinal enterococcal bacteria have been detected in a water sample taken from the water tower on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. The presence of the bacteria in the water is a sign of fecal contamination. No bacteria indicating contamination were detected in the samples taken from the water intake and the network.

All drinking water and water used for cooking must be boiled for at least five (5) minutes in the Ryttylä urban area, the Apilisto water supply association area and the Rauhanmaa, Riinanpolku and Suosillantie water cooperatives. The water is drinkable after cooling. Unboiled water can be used for washing if it does not have an unusual colour or smell. Dishes can be washed with unboiled water, but they must be dried carefully after washing.

The warning to boil water is valid until further notice.
