Construction work on Savottapuisto Park, located in the Parooninmäki district, will continue during the week beginning Monday, May 5, with the establishment of the construction site and the dismantling of old playground equipment. The park will be fully completed in the summer of 2025.

The park is being developed as a local sports venue.

After the removal of the local sports facility connected to Savottapuisto, Savottapuisto, located along Mottitie, is being developed into a new local sports facility. In a resident survey conducted in autumn 2023, there was a particular desire for a games arena in the park, which will be built to replace the empty playing field.

In addition, a combination platform will be installed in the park, which will meet the residents' wishes for rope climbing and sliding. The park's play equipment will be renewed and will use the theme of forest animals. The lighting will also be improved.

Although the park plan was already on the table in early 2024, construction work has been delayed due to an appeal to the Market Court. The court's decision was issued in September 2024, and the appeal was rejected. As a result, work can now continue, with most of the work having been postponed to spring 2025 due to winter conditions.

Construction work will cause temporary arrangements in the park.

The city has received a state grant of 45 euros from the Regional State Administrative Agency for the construction, which is approximately 000 percent of the total costs.
