Riksula's operations will move to Antoni's house in the fall of 2024

The operation of the open welfare services of the city of Riihimäki will move from the Matkakeskus cultural and community space to Antoni's house in the fall of 2024. Antoni's house is the former city museum building at Öllerinkatu 3.

The popular activities of Riksula, which is part of the open welfare services, will continue in the fall in new premises. The opening of the new Riksula will be celebrated at Antoni's house on Riihimäki Day, Wednesday, September 11. Riksula will continue operating at Matkakeskus until then.

"The premises will be renovated to be accessible before we move. The premises of the new Riksula will have a disabled toilet and a ramp to the entrance. Familiar and popular Clubs will continue within the new opening hours. The operation will not be reduced, but rather the new premises offer the opportunity to expand the operation of open welfare services to advice and guidance as well as outdoor events in the wonderful courtyard area of ​​Antoni's house. The work with the members of the association will become more intensive with the common facilities", says operations supervisor Alma Ylätalo.

As usual, the senior fair is organized in the fall at Matkakeskus.

Associations will be offered shifts from Antoni's house starting in September

In the future, Antoni's house will also be a meeting place for associations and organizations. Associations operating in the premises of the current Riksula and Öllerinkodi will be offered shifts from the premises of Antoni's house after the renovation from September 2024.

"When Riksula's operations move to Antonin's house, Riksula's operations will be organized in such a way that, if necessary, activity time is reserved for associations also in the mornings," says Ylätalo.

Open welfare services will in the future be responsible for the coordination of the organization's facilities, and space reservations will be made through open welfare services until an electronic reservation calendar is made available for space reservations.

The city government has decided to give up Riksula's current rental premises.
