The opening of Riksula and Antoni's house will be celebrated on Riihimäki Day, September 11

Meeting point Riksula is currently moving from Matkakeskus to Antonin's house at Öllerinkatu 3. Due to the move, Riksula's meeting point is closed until September 10, 2024.

The grand opening of Riksula and the entire Antoni house will be celebrated on Riihimäki Day, September 11, with open doors from 10 a.m. to 14 p.m.

The city's culture director Jari Lausvaara will open the event at 10 a.m., during which the Tree of Community will be planted in the courtyard of Antoni's house. In Finland, commemorative and festive trees have been planted to commemorate many anniversaries and events. Planting trees is considered to reflect hope and the future, one of the famous sayings goes: "Even if I knew the world would be destroyed tomorrow, I would plant an apple tree today", Martti Luther.

Riksula's opening ceremony continues until 14 p.m. with daytime dances (12 p.m. to 14 p.m.). The Riihimäki Day program continues at Antoni's house by the city's cultural and event services from 16 to 20 p.m.

The premises of Antoni's house can be reserved and rented

Antoni's house offers its premises for the use of associations and organizations as well as city residents. The space can be used, for example, for meetings, courses, clubs and events on weekday evenings from 15:22 to 8:22 and on weekends from 14:XNUMX to XNUMX:XNUMX. Organizing free activities open to everyone at the house is free of charge. Private and closed group and meeting bookings are charged according to the space usage price list of culture and well-being. Space rent is, for example, €XNUMX/hour for associations in Riihämäki.

Associations that support the goals of promoting the city's well-being and health can reserve spaces by contacting Riksula's operations manager Alma Ylätalo.

Soile Saranpää of Riihimäki's cultural services is responsible for bookings for the hall of Antoni's house. Associations can organize activities and events open to everyone during the day as well.

Riksula is a barrier-free meeting place for the open welfare services of the city of Riihimäki, whose operating philosophy emphasizes supporting inclusion, increasing community spirit and preventive action to promote well-being and health.

There is barrier-free access to Antonin's house, and the renovation will include, among other things, two barrier-free toilets and a new strip for the entrance to the meeting place. Antoni's house is a former city museum space in a beautiful courtyard.
