Riihimäki switches to using the Menoinfo event calendar

The City of Riihimäki will introduce the Menoinfo event calendar produced by Mediakonserni Keskisuomalainen on the city's website as of 1 May 2026. The change is part of the joint transition of the municipalities of Kanta-Häme to a regional event calendar, which will improve the discoverability of events and reduce duplication of work.

The City of Riihimäki and other municipalities in Kanta-Häme will abandon the current Häme Events calendar in April 2026 and switch to using Menoinfo.

In addition to Riihimäki, Hämeenlinna, Hattula, Hausjärvi, Janakkala, Loppi and Tammela will also be using Menoinfo. During the spring, the provincial tourism operator Visit Häme will also switch to using Menoinfo, which will allow events to be displayed on the tourism website in Finnish and English. The Visit Riihimäki website provides guidance to Visit Häme's event calendar. The service supports tourism and makes it easier for visitors from outside the region to find events.

The goal of the change is to make it easier to both find and publish events. A single, shared regional calendar will improve the discoverability of events and reduce the work of event organizers, as events can now be published in one service.

Menoinfo automatically transfers event information from several ticket services such as Lippu.fi, Tiketti, Ticketmaster and NetTicket, as well as association events from the Lähellä.fi service. Integrations bring more content to the calendar and reduce the amount of information that needs to be entered manually.

The regional newspapers Hämeen Sanomat, Aamuposti, Hämeenlinnan Kaupunkiuutiset, Keski-Häme and Forssan Lehti pick up events from Menoinfo for their printed and online newspapers. This improves the visibility of the events and helps reach new audiences.

Instructions for event organizers

Adding events to Menoinfo is free and requires logging in. Each event contributor has their own ID, which improves the reliability of the data and reduces the risk of abuse. Event organizers can import their own events to their own websites for free using a widget or RSS feed.
