Riihimäki Day goes Night of the Arts event takes over the city, as Riihimäki's birthday and Night of the Arts exceptionally fall on the same day this year. Friday, September 11th is set to be a huge event day with a record number of programs on offer across Riihimäki.

There is sure to be something for everyone at the events. The program is available from 9 am to 22 pm. The day's events are free to the public and admission is free, unless otherwise stated in the program description.

Locally organized art and cultural events

The purpose of the Riihimäki Day goes Night of the Arts event is to offer art and cultural events organized by locals to the city's residents and to celebrate Riihimäki Day. Anyone can participate in the event with their own program.

Whether you're a fan of performances, a shopaholic or just want to enjoy the joy of being together, this event is for you. The program will be held in various locations around the city center, in the old glass factory area, and this year the events will spread to the Taipale district.

"This year, many new program organizers are participating in the Riihimäki Day goes Night of the Arts event. There is so much program that it is worth getting to know it in advance and even planning your own event itinerary, because you won't have time to experience everything in one day," advises cultural producer Anita Aronen.

The city's cultural and event services are responsible for compiling the program for the Riihimäki Day goes Night of the Arts event.

The Night of the Arts bus transports the public non-stop

All R-liikenti lines and R-kiyti are free of charge throughout the day. In addition, the glass factory area can be easily reached from the city center by the Night of the Arts bus, which starts at 5 pm from Valtakatu (stop 310) and operates continuously between Valtakatu and the Finnish Glass Museum. You can board the bus free of charge at any stop along the route. The bus leaves the Glass Museum for the last time at around 8:15 pm and ends at Valtakatu at around 8:30 pm.
