The city of Riihimäki is organizing a land transfer competition for a plot near the train station in Asemanpuisto's Jokikylä. The goal of the land transfer competition is to produce high-quality proposals for the architecture of the area in the form of plans aimed at starting residential construction projects.

Jokikylä is part of the Riihimäki station area, the development of which is one of the top projects of the strategy of the city of Riihimäki.

The aim of the site plan for the area has been to create the conditions for a high-quality and urban-looking interesting new residential area a short walk from the train station.

"The site plan has been deliberately drawn up in a general way, based on the idea that the construction will also be guided by land transfer competitions, which are held for the area one plot at a time," says Laura Vallinkivi, the land expert who works as the competition secretary.

The starting point of the competition is cooperation between a construction company and a design office. As a prize, the construction business partner of the winning group will receive the right to redeem plot 509 of Jokikylä block 1 and the designers who prepared the competition proposal a design commission from the aforementioned construction business.

The city of Riihimäki implements the competition in cooperation with the Finnish Architects' Association SAFA.
