The costs of the Riihimäki swimming pool may increase more than planned
The City of Riihimäki is preparing for the possibility that the costs of the swimming pool may increase by approximately 900 euros. The Technical Committee will discuss the need for additional funding for the swimming pool renovation project at its meeting on 000 May 14. From the Committee, the matter regarding additional funding will proceed to the consideration of the City Board and City Council.
The total funding for the renovation of the swimming pool was 15,1 million euros when the project began. As the renovation progressed, needs for additional and modification work emerged, resulting in the city council changing the budget to 16,9 million euros. Now the amount may increase to 17,8 million euros.
The additional appropriation proposal has been forecasted for the upcoming negotiations for the main contract, ongoing costs for the developer, and potential cost risks related to the project. The amount may also fall short if the estimated risks do not materialize. At this point, the project budget has exceeded approximately 320 euros.
