Riihimäki traffic safety plan launches – Residents are invited to respond to a survey
Riihimäki, Hausjärvi, Hyvinkää and Loppi have launched an update of their joint traffic safety plan, the aim of which is to improve traffic safety and create a smoother traffic environment for all residents of the municipalities.
The plan covers all modes of transport and aims to take into account pedestrians, cyclists, electric vehicles, public transport users and car drivers. As part of the initial data for the plan, a resident survey has been prepared, which will be used to collect valuable information about experiences and development proposals related to mobility and traffic safety, as well as potential danger spots, which can be marked on the map. The survey is open to all residents of Riihimäki, Hausjärvi, Hyvinkää and Loppi, as well as those who regularly travel there.
The survey is open until April 15th. Participate in the survey here.
The views of the respondents are very important for the success of the plan, and they will help ensure that road safety measures are correctly targeted during the plan's validity period of 2025-2035 and that the measures meet the needs of residents across different age and road user groups.
The traffic safety plan will be prepared in cooperation with the Uusimaa ELY Centre and the municipalities in the region. Destia Oy will act as a consultant. The plan will be completed in autumn 2025.
