Block gigs will take over Riihimäki's backyards and parks in the summer of 2025, enlivening the summer cityscape.

"The idea of Korttelikeikkat has been buzzing since the corona times, when all cultural events stopped overnight: even then there was a need to delight city dwellers with cultural experiences right where they are. The idea had to mature for quite a few years before it was realized, but now it is happening. I hope that the people of Riihimäki will discover Korttelikeikkat and make it their own, because there are great gig sets coming up," says cultural producer Minttu Seppo.

The block gigs received nearly 70 gig offers, from which the summer gig selections have now been made. This summer, there will be a dazzling array of different musical styles, brought to the delight of all the city's residents by eight bands from Riihimäki.

The townspeople suggested over a hundred locations for block gigs. The gig locations have been chosen based on suggestions from Riihimäki residents. What does a music gig sound like at the Uhkola kiosk or
