Riihimäki Summer Theatre celebrates its 75th anniversary
This year, the Riihimäki Summer Theatre is celebrating 75 years of almost continuous summer theatre operations in Allinna Montu. To celebrate the anniversary, the summer theatre has received a new logo, designed by Nils Krogell.
The decision to establish the summer theatre was made on 11 April 1950 at a general meeting held by the Riihimäen Näyttämö Supporters' Association. The 400-seat theatre was completed that same summer. The first play performed was The General's Bride. Since then, summer theatre has been performed in Riihimäki almost continuously for 75 years, although the actors have changed from time to time.
The summer theatre, built by the city of Riihimäki in 2023, is still located in Allinna Montu. The summer theatre has a covered 444-seat auditorium, a café building and toilet facilities. Accessibility information for the summer theatre can be found here. From the Accessible Riihimäki page.
