The city of Riihimäki is once again participating in the Million trash bags campaign

Riihimäki cleaning tasks have been organized for several years. The cleaning tasks are part of the Siisti Riksu campaign of the city of Riihimäki. Like last year, this year the cleaning tasks will be carried out by participating in the Million Trash Bags campaign organized by Yle, which will run from April 15th until June 5th.

The goal of the campaign is to inspire Finns to collect one million bags of garbage from the environment. More information about the campaign at yle.fi/miljoonaroskapussia.

The campaign arrangements are as follows in Riihimäki:

• Individuals can collect garbage in city areas. Real estates and institutions take care of cleaning their own areas and removing garbage.
• Garbage bags can be picked up during office hours from the city depot's warehouse at VO Mäkinen katu 2 and from Tietotuva at Eteläinen Asemakatu 2.
• Leave the garbage bags in a visible place along the driveways, where they can be picked up by a tractor. Preferably not under trees.
• Call 040 664 7135 about the verses to be picked up.
• Enter the number of garbage bags you collect in the online counter yle.fi/miljoonaskapuscia.

Clean collection papers and metal and glass waste can be delivered to regional collection points for useful waste. Small quantities of hazardous waste can be delivered to a central depot.

The use of a safety vest increases the safety of the garbage collector.
