Almost a hundred ideas were submitted to the Riihimäki city's event competition
There were plenty of good ideas for the Riihimäki city's event competition. The most popular topics were suggestions related to exercise and various cultural events.
The competition started on November 2.11. and it ended on 15.12.21/XNUMX/XNUMX. The competition had two series: event ideas, which was a series open to everyone. Professional event producers had their own competition series.
The aim of the event competition is to strengthen Riihimäki's reputation and increase the city's attraction and holding power.
"With the help of the competition, we want to market Riihimäki as a place to organize events and develop innovative and interesting events for Riihimäki residents and visitors, which also bring national visibility to Riihimäki", says Mika Herpiö, director of vitality of the city of Riihimäki.
By the deadline for the competition, a total of almost a hundred event proposals were submitted.
The professional series yielded delightfully different event ideas, a total of 13 proposals were received. There are event producers from Riihimäki and production companies operating elsewhere. Most of the ideas were entertaining and exercise-oriented event ensembles. Among the proposals were also events aimed at the elderly and focused on recycling and environmental protection.
The competition series, open to everyone, collected more than 80 proposals. The most popular topics were music, flea market events and events related to food and exercise. Among the proposals were also winter festivals of light.
The city of Riihimäki thanks everyone who participated in the competition. The competition committee reviews all the proposals and selects the ones that will be implemented. The winners will be announced after mid-January. The first events will take place already in 2022.
