Every year, the city offers summer jobs to more than a hundred 16-19-year-old Riihimäki residents. In the coming summer, the summer jobs are intended for young people born between 2006 and 2009. The duration of the summer job is a maximum of four weeks and the salary for it is around 960 euros. The work periods take place between May and August.

Car and small machinery maintenance tasks as new jobs

This summer, summer jobs are available in communications and marketing, sports centers, libraries, early childhood education, integration services, and cultural and youth services. During the summer, you can manage sports facilities or parks, work in senior parks, in an outdoor swimming pool, or even on a playground.

The new summer jobs include maintenance tasks for vehicles and small machinery in fleet services, as well as construction work.

Preference given to those without previous summer work experience from the city

In the selection of summer jobs in the city of Riihimäki, priority is given to those young people from Riihimäki who have not previously had summer jobs in the city. The selections will be announced to all those who applied for summer jobs between April and May.

The city's job coach Reija Peltomäki will visit all Riihimäki middle schools during February to tell 9th ​​graders about the summer job offer. If necessary, she can also help with filling out the application. Help with the application is also available from the Riihimäki Region's Ohjaamo youth center Monari (Uudenmaankatu 1) on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 13 p.m. to 16 p.m.
