During the anti-racism week 18.–24.3. versatile program

The International Anti-Racism Week will be celebrated this year from the 18th to the 24th. March.

The Riihimäki branch of the Red Cross, the city of Riihimäki and the parish of Riihimäki jointly organize a program open to all as part of the anti-racism week.

The theme of the anti-racism week is tackling racism and its purpose is to encourage everyone to examine their own thinking patterns and to challenge everyone to act against racism – regardless of nationality, skin color, religion or ethnic background.

Discussions in Riksula, Kotola and youth facilities

In Riihimäki, the topic is widely discussed during the week in the city's various services, and you can participate in the discussions in Riksula, Kotola and youth facilities.

On Tuesday, March 19, the congregation and Riihimäki integration services will organize an anti-racism music and discussion evening at Keskuskirke (Hämeenkatu 5) starting at 19 p.m.

At Riksula (Eteläinen Asemakatu 2) on Wednesday, March 20, starting at 16.30 p.m., there will be a discussion on the topic How to act against racism? Karoliina Saarinen and Juha Hiltunen from Riihimäki integration services acted as the initiators of the discussion.

Riksula, Kotola, Monari, Peltsin Club and the library have the opportunity to participate in community artworks.

Share your opinion on the What's Up bench

On Monday, March 18, at 13−15, you can sit down for a while on the What's Up bench of the SPR Riihimäki department in Jukka Jalonen Park to share your news (weather permitting). The department also welcomes everyone for different activities of the week.

The themes of the anti-racism week will also be continued on April 11 at the Kirkkopuisto parish home under the banner of a Ukrainian pop-up cafe (Hämeenkatu 5). The proceeds from the cafe will be used for the well-being of Ukrainian children living in Riihimäki.
