Räätykänmäki park plans are now on display

The park plan for the Hännintie playground and the landscaping plan for the playground to be removed on Härkätie will be on display from January 7, 2026. The display will end on January 21, 2026.

The aim of the park plan for the Hännintie playground is to improve the accessibility of the area's playground and improve the functionality of the playground. The current Härkätie playground will be landscaped.

The wishes of residents and children have been taken into account in the planning. The Children's Parliament and students from Herajoki School participated in the planning already in 2024, and an open participation survey was carried out in the summer of 2025. The responses included, among other things, the wish for a double rope course and the preservation of the sand playground. In addition, residents were able to influence the selection of play equipment through strong identification on the Riihimäki participation platform. Based on the vote, the playground will have robinia wood play equipment.

The plan takes into account the principles of sustainable environmental construction. The area will be built with diverse play opportunities for children of different ages, improved lighting and increased vegetation. The aim is to increase biodiversity with multi-species tree and shrub groups and a meadow mound. Stormwater will be delayed by means of stormwater pressure.

The goal of the landscaping plan for the playground to be removed from Härkätie is to increase the amenity of the field-like area and promote the diversity of urban nature.

Those involved in the park plan proposal phase, i.e. property owners within the planning area, have the opportunity to submit their opinion on the proposal. The opinion or proposed correction must be submitted to the city registry by email within the viewing period. kirjaamo@riihimaki.fi or by letter to the City of Riihimäki, Registry Office, PO Box 125, 11101 Riihimäki.
