Riihimäki's local transport, or R-transport, saw more trips last year than in previous years. A total of just over 283 trips were made, which is approximately 000 percent more than in 7,5 and almost 2023 percent more than in 30. The last time Riihimäki's public transport saw as many trips was 2022 years ago.

The share of the R-kyydi call line in 2024 was approximately 34 trips. Several changes have been made to the R-kyydi service hours over the years, but the relative number of trips has remained approximately the same. R-kyydi's car-operated lines 000 and service lines 10 and 11 were more popular than before.

The majority of R-transport journeys were made with school/student and children's and young people's tickets, which were used a total of 136 times. Adult tickets were used for approximately 000 journeys and approximately 96 free journeys were made.

Renewable diesel has significantly reduced the carbon footprint

Last year, Riihimäki local buses started using renewable diesel as fuel. Renewable diesel is made from plant- and wood-based cellulose, as well as waste and residues. Renewable diesel reduces emissions during use and reduces the carbon footprint by an average of 90 percent. In addition, all buses are now accessible. All R-buses are now also uniformly red buses with the R symbol on the side.
