R-traffic will switch to winter timetables on Wednesday, August 6, when schools start. At the same time, there will be changes to several lines.
The Loppi–Riihimäki and Ryttylä–Riihimäki regional bus services will also switch to winter timetables at the same time.
You can view the timetable publication online. The printed publication can be picked up from, for example, a library, Information Centre (Tietotupa), hospital, railway station or R-Traffic buses.
The winter timetables are valid until May 31, 2026.
Several R-Traffic lines will have changes to their timetables and routes. The changes will make it easier for the lines to stay on schedule and take into account upcoming changes to the school network.
The route of line 1 towards the hospital will change to run via Petsamo and Sipusaarentie/Ilomäentie. The line will no longer run via Kalevankatu or the Lemmenmäentie loop. These areas will now be served by Line 4. A school travel connection from Peltosaari to Kalevankatu will be available via Line 7. In addition, line 1 will operate one hour later on weekends.
Line 2 will now run via the prison turnaround. Line 2 will no longer run the Sipusaari/Ilomäki route, but line 1 will continue to serve that route.
The route and timetables of line 3 will change significantly. The new terminal stops are Sipusaari and Kumpula, instead of Merkos and Pohjankorpi. However, the line will also run in Pohjankorpi at certain times. Line 3 will operate together with line 9 as a school connection from Pohjankorpi to secondary schools, Eteläinen koulu and Pohjoinen koulu.
The route of line 4 towards the hospital will change to run via Kalevankatu. In addition, the route will include a Lemmenmäki loop. Line 4 will no longer run via Petsamo or along Kalevankatu towards Vasikkahaka. In the future, line 1 will run from the Petsamo area to the hospital.
The route and timetables of bus 7 will change somewhat. The new terminal stop of the bus is Peltosaari instead of Vasikkahaka. The line will always run via Pohjolanrinteen koulu. Line 7 provides a school travel connection from the Peltosaari area to Kalevankatu and from Metsäkorpi to Pohjoinen koulu and Pohjolanrinteen koulu.
There will be minor changes to the schedule of bus line 8, which will allow more time for getting between school and the bus stop. The route of the bus will change to run via Petsamo at certain times. The route change will not affect the bus's school connections.
The route and timetables of line 9 will change significantly. The new terminal stops are Vasikkahaka (instead of the hospital) and Pohjankorpi (instead of Kumpula). Lines 9 and 3 together will provide a school travel connection from the Pohjankorpi to secondary schools and Eteläinen koulu. Line 9 will operate on all school days.
The full timetables and routes for all lines, including Loppi–Riihimäki and Ryttylä–Riihimäki regional services, are available in the timetable publication of R-Traffic.
The availability of R-kyyti was improved at the beginning of the summer. R-kyyti is now more readily available on weekday mornings from 5 a.m. and on weekend evenings from 18 p.m. to 23 p.m.
R-kyyti is a ride-on-request service that allows you to travel on demand to places and times that are not served by scheduled bus services.
The names of the stops at the railway station will change, and the former exit stop will become a regular stop. In addition, there will be changes to the departure stops at the railway station on several lines.
You can find the new names of the stops and the lines departing from them on page 14 of the timetable publication.
