Public transport, R-traffic, will switch to the summer schedule on Monday, June 3. At the same time, the appearance of the buses will be renewed, the vast majority of the lines will have a new operator, and the buses of R traffic will start using renewable diesel.

In the summer, lines 1, 2 and 10, service lines 11 and 12 and the R-ride are run. As a new line, line 13 to Kaunola starts. R-ride and line 13 also run on weekends.

R-kyyt's service hours are extended considerably on weekends. In the future, R-kyyti will run on weekends from 6.00:22.30 a.m. to 9.30:10.30 p.m. In addition, on weekdays between 19.00:22.30 and XNUMX:XNUMX and XNUMX:XNUMX and XNUMX:XNUMX, the R ride is more available, because it is driven by more cars than before. R-kyyd's service area is expanding to cover Riuta.

The summer schedule publication can be found here. You can pick up a printed schedule publication for yourself from, for example, R-buses, railway stations, libraries, hospitals, Information Centers and Riksula.

Changes to routes

The departure stops at the railway station of lines 1 and 2 change. In the future, line 1 will depart in the direction of Pohjankorvi from the stop at railway station B. Line 2 will depart in the direction of Merkos from the stop at railway station A.

The route of line 2 changes slightly. The bus no longer goes to the prison turning point. The change makes it easier to stay on schedule. The line's new terminus is in Garrison. At the same time, the garrison's schedules are slightly earlier.

The service lines are changing in such a way that they can no longer be ordered in advance to pick up outside the route. You can still ask the driver when getting on board to drop off or pick up during the same day on the way back from a place slightly off the route.

The service line 11 route starts and ends at Joosepinkuja in the future. However, service line 11 still runs on Vanhainkodintie.

Changes to tickets

From June 3rd, R-traffic buses will start charging a fee for transporting a bicycle, electric scooter or other similar means of transport. The price is 1 euro and can be paid either in cash, with a payment card or with a mobile ticket application. The surcharge does not apply to aids such as prams and wheelchairs.

R-kyyt's one-time tickets come with the right of exchange, which is valid 60 minutes from the time of ticket purchase. In the future, you can also travel on scheduled services with the R-kyyt single ticket.

The appearance of the buses is changing

When the summer service starts on June 3, the operator of lines 1–4 and 7–13 and R-kyyt will change. Vekka Group Oy will start as the new operator.

At the same time, the appearance of R traffic buses will change. In the future, buses will be identified by their red color and R codes.

In the future, renewable diesel will be used in the buses of R traffic. Renewable diesel is made from plant- and wood-based cellulose as well as waste and residues. Renewable diesel reduces emissions during use and reduces the carbon footprint by an average of 90 percent.
