Riihimäki's local traffic, or R-traffic, will switch to autumn schedules on Wednesday, August 9, when schools start. At the same time, there will be changes to the routes and schedules of some lines.

The schedule publication can be found on the city's website at www.riihimaki.fi/joukkoliikenne. The printed publication will be distributed in August on R-transport buses, at the train station, at Matkakeskus Tietotuva and Riksula, at the library and at the hospital.

Semester and academic year tickets for school children and secondary school students go on sale at the beginning of August. On the first day of school, i.e. 9.8. traveling by bus is free of charge for all schoolchildren and secondary school students on R transport lines (excluding R-kyyti) and on the Riihimäki-Ryttylä and Riihimäki-Loppi regional services.

Key changes in R traffic schedules and routes

Bus line 1 will also start running on weekends from August 9.

The route of line 3 will change so that it runs from Pohjankorpi to Merkos, not to Tienhaara. Even in autumn, line 3 does not run at all times in Kumpula when line 9 is running.

The schedule of line 4 will change in such a way that it will stop running in the direction of the hospital in the afternoons one hour earlier than in spring 2023 (the last departure is at 15.45:4 p.m.). It drives accordingly in the direction of Vasikkaha an hour later. In addition, line XNUMX runs the route to Vasikkaha in the opposite direction than in spring, i.e. you can board from the other side of the street.

Line 7 starts as a new line. It goes to Metsäkorpi and Vasikkahaka. The route and schedules of the bus have taken into account especially going to school from the direction of Metsäkorpi.

The route of line 8 changes so that it runs from Korttionmäki to Tienhaara, not Metsäkorpi. The timetables are more suitable for traveling from Korttionmäki to school than in spring 2023. School travel connections are organized on line 8 from the direction of Tienhaara to Uramo school.

Line 9 will be running from October 1.

There will be no changes to lines 2, 5, 6 and 10, service lines 11 and 12 and R-ride.

New ticket options and changes to prices

On Wednesday, August 9, a number of ticket reforms will also come into effect. The children's ticket becomes a ticket for children and young people, and the upper age limit for users is raised from 16 to 19 years. Children under the age of 7 still travel free of charge.

The best price ticket (the price depends on the number of trips made by the passenger), a day ticket (valid for 24 hours from the moment of purchase) and a 30-day season ticket and series tickets for children/youth will be introduced as new ticket products for line traffic.

In addition, the prices of series tickets for secondary school students and adults will decrease. There will also be small price changes for some other ticket products.

New pricing will be introduced for R-kyut, different from regular services. Therefore, ticket products for regular services are no longer valid for R rides.

You can find more detailed information about the new ticket products and prices on the Riihimäki city's Ticket page: www.riihimaki.fi/matkaliput

The QR code for school and student tickets will be displayed on the reading device in the future

The use of mobile tickets for elementary school and secondary school students will change from August 9, so that the QR code shown on the tickets is shown on the bus every time you get on the QR code reader.
