Bench trucks and old people's dances bring a festive atmosphere to the city's residents

Riihimäki Upper Secondary School will hold a graduation ceremony on Thursday, February 5, 2026. This is when high school seniors celebrate their last day of school. Senior Day will be celebrated the following day, February 6. This is when the second-year students of the upper secondary school will become the oldest students in the school.

New dances for old people in shopping malls

New this year, all Riihimäki residents will have the opportunity to experience not only the bench rides but also the dances of the old people! The performances will start on Friday, February 6th at 1:20 PM at the Atom shopping center and Merkos. The old people will perform three different dances. Welcome to follow the wonderful dancers and experience the magic of dance!

For city dwellers, the best place to watch the bench trucks is at the last stop of the route at the old market square (Torikuja 6).

Senior Citizens' Day follows the benches

Senior Citizens' Day is on Friday, February 6, when second-year high school students, or senior citizens, dance for high school students and invited guests at the Istuinkivi Hall. Senior citizens also visit daycare centers and service centers.

The dance performances, open to the general public, will be held on Friday, February 6th at 1:20 PM at the Atom shopping center and Merkos. Welcome!
