The construction of the Peltosaari pop-up park will begin on Monday, June 1, 2026. The temporary park will be built on the site of a demolished school as part of the Peltosaari park development project.

The park will be equipped with partly recycled playground equipment and picnic tables, which are planned to be moved to the Bad Segeberg park later. The swings in the pop-up park will be moved from the adjacent Karlskogan playground. The Karlskogan area will remain in park use until construction work begins on the area.

The pop-up park will be made more comfortable with large plant pots filled with flowers reserved for Tellustori.

At the same time, the construction planning for the actual Peltosaari park complex is in the final stages. The park's target completion year is 2027.

Pond renovation work begins

The renovation of the Bad Segeberg pond is scheduled to begin in the Midsummer week of 2026, according to the preliminary schedule. A biofiltration structure will be built in the pond to improve water quality. The existing dam will be raised to raise the water level and increase the pond's water volume. In addition, the stormwater load on the pond will be reduced by installing pit filters in the stormwater wells on HJ Elomaan Street.

The construction of the Hännintie playground is being delayed because the bids received for the procurement exceeded the budget allocated for the project. The implementation of the playground is proposed to be transferred to the 2027 investment program.
