Let's remember together what Easter was like in the olden days and what kind of Easter traditions families had. Did you send Easter cards to your friends or did you perhaps have a visit with a bouquet of yellow daffodils? And have the same traditions survived to the present day? For Seniori Tuesday, you can take, for example, an Easter decoration that is important to you, and you can tell others about it if you wish. At the end of the discussion session, coffee will be served. The event is free of charge.

Wednesday 27.3. at 17 pm Lecture on the history of Easter cards

In the lecture, we will hear about the tradition and history of Easter cards and the different motifs of Easter cards. The richly illustrated presentation is based on Postimuseo's extensive card collections. The history of Easter cards is intertwined with the history of postcards. The tradition of sending Easter postcards began to become more common in the late 1800th century. The lecturer is Postimuseo's communication designer Mirka Ylä-Mattila. You can attend the lecture for the price of the museum entrance fee.
