Take part in the competition and knit a Riihimäki-themed garment

The city of Riihimäki is organizing a knitting competition, where the city is looking for knitted pieces of clothing that depict Riihimäki. The competition period starts on Monday 14 October 2024 and ends on Friday 28 February 2025.

You can participate in the competition with any knitted piece of clothing. It can be, for example, socks, gloves, beanie, scarf or sweater.

Creative proposals are sought

Our city is known for, among other things, handmade glass, a lively cultural life, the railway and robotics. In your opinion, what kind of knitting pattern would best embody Riihimäki? We are looking for inventive and creative proposals for the competition.

Anyone can participate in the competition with their own creation: beginner or expert. The finished work can be brought or sent to the Riihimäki city customer service point Tietotupa (Eteläinen Asemakatu 2).

The prize is a 200 euro product package

The prize is a product package worth 200 euros, which includes 150 euros worth products of Pieni Nappipuoti and 50 euros worth products of the city of Riihimäki.

In March 2025, the jury will choose the best garment. The jury includes, among others, the chairman of the city council Miia Nahkuri, Mayor of the City of Riihimäki Jouni Eho, entrepreneur Sanna Ventola of Pieni Nappipuoti and communication and marketing manager Mia Miettinen.
