Home builder school offered for the first time at Riihimäki adult education centre

In the fall, a home builder's school will be organized at the Riihimäki adult education centre. Home builder school is suitable for everyone who dreams and plans to build or develop their own house.

The lecture series introduces the site plan that guides the construction of residential areas, building order, plot selection, building permit application and connection issues for single-family houses. There is also time for questions at the end of the lectures.

- This lecture series is being organized for the first time. The city wants to serve people who dream of building a single-family house even in the distant future. We have gathered useful information about what the builder faces with the city and other parties in the design and construction project of a single-family house, the city's project manager Riikka Uusikulku says.

The fall home builder school consists of three lectures, which will be held on September 25, October 2. and October 9, 2024.

Construction order, construction method instructions

In the first evening, we will familiarize ourselves with the site plan that guides the construction of residential areas, the building order of the city of Riihimäki and how the building code guides the design and construction of a single-family house. During the evening, we will also consider matters related to the selection of the plot.

Applying for a building permit

The second time, we will go over what the application for a building permit for a single-family house consists of, what the process of applying for a building permit is, and what kind of designer should be used in the construction project of a single-family house. During the evening, the water, sewer, electricity and telecommunication connections of the single-family house will also be heard.

Project management and finance

In the third evening, we will familiarize ourselves with the project management and financial issues of a detached house project. At the end of the construction school, you will receive tips for finding and competing for suitable partners. At the end of the evening, the story of a private house builder will be heard about his own project.
