Forestry in the central sports park in the week starting September 2

The city of Riihimäki is doing small-scale tree maintenance in the central square park in the week starting September 2 (forest patterns 262 and 293). The purpose of the actions is to prevent the center field park from becoming crowded and to keep the landscapes open. At the same time, the area is checked for dangerous trees.

In the management of small stands, precious trees are preferred and the aim is to leave as many different tree species as possible to develop under the main stand. The twigs resulting from the procedure are left in the forest to rot and release nutrients to the forest floor.
