Children's cultural Saturdays offer experiences

Riihimäki offers cultural activities for families with children at the Children's Culture Saturday events organized once a month. Culture Saturdays offer high-quality workshops for children, theater and film performances, museum visits, music, dance and other cultural events.

The organizers of the children's cultural Saturdays are the local cultural sites, and the cultural and event services of the city of Riihimäki are responsible for the coordination of the events and the maintenance of the common website for the cultural Saturdays.

"The event offering of children's cultural Saturdays is mostly free of charge for children. Efforts have been made to keep ticket prices for paid performances reasonable. You can also get tickets for yourself and your children with the Kaikukort," says cultural producer Anita Aronen.

In 2024, Children's Culture Saturday will be organized every month, and families with children are warmly invited to participate in the diverse culture. "It's great that we've got new organizers involved: Tanssikoulut Etelä-Häme tanssoipisto, Studio Dance & Joy and Tanssistudio Dance Art are organizing Children's Culture Saturdays for the first time," says Anita Aronen.

The first Children's Culture Saturday of the year will be organized on January 27.1.2024, 10 from 12 a.m. to 7 p.m. by Etelä-Häme Tanssiopisto in its dance hall (address Hämeenkatu 22.1). In February, Children's Cultural Saturdays are celebrated at the Finnish Glass Museum, where you can watch Satutät's suitcase theater performance, and in March, Riihimäki Library organizes a Harry Potter day. During the year, cultural Saturdays are also organized by Riihimäki Music College, Riihimäki Theatre, Finnish Hunting Museum, Studio Dance & Joy, Riihimäki Art School, Tanssistudio Dance Art, Riihimäki Youth Theater, Riihimäki Art Museum and City Museum, and Cinema Culture Association Kino Sampo ry.
