The second meeting of the Riihimäki City Children's Parliament of the academic year will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2026 at the Monari Youth Center.

The meeting begins with the Mayor's question hour, during which representatives from all the city's elementary schools can ask Mayor Jouni Eho questions they have prepared.

The question hour will continue with the creation of stories about the Hatlamminsuo nature trail. The program also includes a presentation of the implementation of the participatory budgeting proposals made by the children's parliament in the autumn, and participation in the planning of the renovation of the Pellavapuisto playground.

Part of the Child-Friendly Municipality initiative

The Children's Parliament has a total of 28 members, four students from each primary school in Riihimäki. Members are elected from the schools annually. The Children's Parliament usually meets three times during the school year. The fourth term and membership of the Children's Parliament is now operating in Riihimäki.

The Children's Parliament is part of the Riihimäki Child-Friendly Municipality initiative. The aim of the Children's Parliament's activities is to increase the participation and influence of children in Riihimäki in matters concerning children.
