The number of visitors and sales of the Riihimäki city recycling center increased significantly in 2023.

"There is clearly a change for the better in people's awareness and changing attitudes towards the circular economy," says Jyri Lindblom from the recycling center.
The city of Riihimäki aims to be zero waste by 2050. The increase in the popularity of the recycling center is important in terms of achieving this goal.
Preferring used goods and recycling goods that you no longer need are both important everyday environmental actions.
"In Riihimäki, this is easy thanks to, among other things, the recycling center," says Lindblom.
Riihimäki recycling center's store operations are on summer break from 8 to 21. July 2024.
