A re-sampling of the Kernaalanjärvi beach shows that the water is safe for swimming again

In a repeat sample taken from the Kernaalanjärvi beach on July 14, no e.coli bacteria exceeding the action limit were detected, and based on the sample taken, there is no longer any reason to avoid swimming.

The E.coli concentration in the repeat sample was 11 mpn/100ml and the intestinal enterococci were 11 cfu/100ml. The action limit for E.coli is 1000 mpn/100ml and for intestinal enterococci 400 cfu/100ml.

South Häme Environmental Health and Janakkala Environmental Control continue to investigate the cause of the increased bacterial concentration in the bathing water.
