City bikes will return to Riihimäki's cityscape from April 2. Bikes will gradually arrive at the bike stations during the week after Easter. All stations will have bikes in use no later than Friday, April 5.
For the starting cycling season, 120 bikes will be available, just like last year. They can be rented at 40 stations around the city. The locations of the stations remain the same as last year.
The busiest city bike stations are at the train station, Granit aukio, Kauppakeskus at Atom, K-market in Otso, S-Market in Hirsimäki and Uhkola.
KaaKau Oy, which has also operated in Riihimäki in previous years, is responsible for the implementation of the city bike system. Bikes are available for rent with the Donkey Republic app.
Rental prices remain the same as before. For example, during the entire cycling season, you cycle for 35 euros.
In Riihimäki, moving around on city bikes is easy and fast; 94 percent of the residents live within three kilometers of the train station.
City bikes came to Riihimäki for the first time in 2020 and they have found their place in the everyday lives of city dwellers.
Last year, city residents made around 15 city bike trips.
The cycling season ends on October 31 or, depending on the weather, a little later.
