The city is selling two social services buildings

The City of Riihimäki is selling two of its owned social welfare buildings. Both properties are leased to the Kanta-Häme welfare area under contracts that are valid until further notice.

The items for sale are:

• Tiilikatu rehabilitation unit, Huhtimo, on a rented plot
  Building: Tiilikatu Rehabilitation Unit, Tiilikatu 4, 11120 Riihimäki (kartta.riihimaki.fi).
• Kalevanrinne Rehabilitation Unit, Harjukylä, share capital
  Shares: Real Estate Ltd. Riihimäen Kalevanrinne, Kalevankatu 23, 11100 Riihimäki (kartta.riihimaki.fi).

The properties have ARA restrictions, which makes them so-called Varke properties. The buyer can only be a community or an individual nominated by the State-subsidized Housing Construction Center (Varke).

The bidding process begins on September 1st.

The offer period begins on 1 September 2026 and ends on 2 November 2026. The offers will be presented to the Technical Committee of the City of Riihimäki on 24 November and to the Vitality Committee on 26 November regarding the lease agreement for the Tiilikatu plot. Based on the decisions of the committees, the Varke Centre for State-Subsidized Housing Construction will confirm the buyers' public utility requirement and the sale prices of the properties.
